DOVER, DELAWARE—Another week brings a new race for the NASCAR Xfinity series and Veterans Motorsports, Inc. racer Mike Harmon. Saturday brings Harmon and his team to Dover, Delaware’s Dover International Speedway, a mile long track NASCAR Xfinity racers are slated to go head-to-head on for 200 miles at 2:45 ET today for the “Use Your Melon. Drive Sober 200.”
Last week’s MASCAR Xfinity race in Kentucky came to a close with Harmon taking thiry-fourth place out of forty competitors. Fellow NASCAR Xfinity participant Tyler Reddick won last Saturday’s race for his first win of the season. Harmon picked up another three points from Kentucky’s race, bringing his total for the series to 98 points with a ranking of 35 so far this season.
Each race brings a new Honor Hood to Veterans Motorsports, Inc. and number 74, Harmon’s car. Harmon and his team will be focusing their spotlight on the HM-15 Blackhawks, a United States Navy helicopter mines countermeasures squadron nicknamed the “Blackhawks” that is based out of Norfolk, Virginia. Veteran Motorsports, Inc. representative Karyn Martinella-Chochran on behalf of Mike Harmon and his team said via the Veterans Motorsports, Inc. Facebook page:
“This weekend at Dover we will be honoring the HM-15 Blackhawks. A squadron near and dear to the Veterans Motorsports Inc and Mike Harmon Racing family…We wish all who are currently on deployment and those who will be departing shortly a safe return”
Upon qualifying, it has been determined Harmon will begin the race at thirty-seventh place during the Dover International Speedway for the “Use Your Melon. Drive Sober 200.” For further information on Harmon’s progress over the course of the race or the NASCAR Xfinity Series, go to the official NASCAR Xfinity Series website.
