Phoenix, Arizona – After a wildly successful season, expectations are sky high for Arizona State University’s (ASU), Baseball squad this season. Being ranked No. 3 in the Preseason Top 25 by Baseball America brings those type of outlooks.
Ahead of the season opener on Friday, ASU held an Open House and scrimmage at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. Fans were treated to tours of the facility, raffles, and an autograph session with the entire 2020 ASU Baseball squad.

Preseason All American Junior, Spencer Torkelson, displayed his midseason form, knocking it out of the park on two occasions. This will only serve to further increase the hype behind Torkelson’s MLB Draft status, where he’s already projected to be a top prospect and possibly even a number one overall pick. This performance is sure to garner event more attention as the season begins.

ASU won’t have to solely rely on Torkelson to be the only power hitter in the lineup, as three other Sundevils cleared the warning track and the fence during the scrimmage. Three Juniors, Gage Workman, Trevor Hauver, and Hunter Jump all went yard, proving ASU has the offense to compete and work their way to the top and to a College World Series berth.

ASU kicks off their season at home on Thursday against Villanova at 6:30 pm at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
