Arizona State Opens Season vs Kent State

On a cool 104 degree night in Tempe, Arizona, the Arizona State Sun Devils opened their 2019 season against Kent State. This also marked the first time in Arizona State football history that a true Freshman would start in Jayden Daniels.

The Sun Devils kicked off to Kent State to start the game, and quickly forced a quick three and out. They would get the ball for their first series on their own 42 yard line. Drama In Pocono; Rossi Finishes 18th

As the green flag fell at Pocono Raceway on Sunday, drama quickly followed. Rain had cancelled qualifying on Saturday and the field of 22 lined up on Championship points. This gave Alexander Rossi a front row starting position next to points leader Josef Newgarden.With a rough start, Rossi lost two positions before making it to Turn 1 and headed into the second turn three-wide between teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay and Rahal Letterman Lanigan driver, Takuma Sato. Sato moved left into Rossi and across the nose of Hunter-Reay. As the entangled cars shot down the track and back up to the wall, additional cars were collected, including James Hinchcliffe and Felix Rosenqvist. Diamondbacks Offense Strikes Early

With Jake Lamb returning off the 10-Day IL, the Diamondbacks took this opportunity to move some men around, and get their potential All-Star, Ketel Marte, a day off. In the way this Wednesday afternoon was the NL West rival Los Angeles Dodgers. Arizona and LA had split the first two games of this series and the Diamondbacks were desperately hoping for a series win which would be their first in about two weeks.

Rookie Taylor Clarke took the mound for the Diamondbacks. In his previous start against the Giants, he only went 3.0 innings and allowed six earned runs. Today, he only allowed two runs in 5.0 innings pitched on just three hits.

Godley, Diamondbacks Fall Vs Giants on Peralta Bobblehead Night

Zack Godley is still trying to make his way back to starter status after having to earn his time in the bullpen. He got the start on Saturday night simply because the game was dubbed a “bullpen game.” Bullpen games are usually used to take the spot of a hurt starter in the rotation if there are no suitable starters available. This start is still vacant after Luke Weaver’s injury but he is improving daily.

Mets Win Close One Vs Diamondbacks, Force 5th Straight Loss For Arizona

On Friday night, the Diamondbacks hosted the Mets for the first of a three-game series at Chase Field. Arizona has been struggling of late, coming home after losing 9 of their last 12 games, including being swept by Colorado in their last series of four games.

Jon Duplantier made his Major League starting debut with the Diamondbacks tonight, and by all accounts, pitched well enough to get a win. He went five full innings, giving up six hits, three earned runs, while striking out four.
