SPARTA, KENTUCKY—The VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 NASCAR Xfinity weekend at Kentucky Speedway is underway. With qualifying coming to a close, Veterans Motorsports, Inc. racer Mike Harmon will start the race in 40th place, driving car number seventy-four. The race is 300 miles, about 200 laps on the track located in Sparta, Kentucky.
For this leg of the Xfinity Series, country singer and combat veteran Ryan Weaver will be featured on the hood of Harmon’s car. Weaver served in the United States Army as a Blackhawk Helicopter Pilot with a ranking of Chief Warrant Officer 3 before moving on from service to continue his country career. His passion for country music and activity in the community began in 2005 while still enlisted.
In addition to his involvement with Veterans Motorsports, Inc. Weaver also serves as “patriotic voice” for the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) organization. When asked about his involvement with both organizations, Weaver said,
“My mission as a combat Veteran and the Patriotic Voice of the PBR is to honor the sacrifices of our Heroes, and this falls in line with what Veterans Motorsports Inc. has been doing all season. To be on this hood is an incredible honor and a huge accomplishment personally and professionally. I know what Mike Harmon Racing and Veterans Motorsports, Inc. stand for. They believe in America. The PBR believes in America and I believe in America. What a perfect combination.”
The VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 NASCAR Xfinity final race at Kentucky Speedway will begin at 8:00 pm Eastern Time on Saturday, September 23, 2017. For further information on Harmon’s progress during the race and to keep up with all NASCAR franchise events this weekend, go to www.nascar.com.
