The Demon Deacons of Wake Forest enjoyed their first bowl victory in eight years beating the Temple Owls 34 to 26 in a close contest at Jack Stephens Field at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, Annapolis, Maryland on Dec. 28, 2016.

“Everybody that helps run the Military Bowl, appreciate ya,” Wake Forest Coach Dave Clawson said. “This is a first-class event. Everything from the accommodations, the meals, the tours — we’ve had an absolutely magical week here. And this was a great way to end it.”

The results of this bowl game were surprising.  Ranked 23rd in the nation, the Temple Owls were the favorites to dominate the 7-6 “Deacons.”   Additionally, Wake Forest lost their starting quarterback to injury during the third quarter.

However, the Demon Deacons followed the lead of the game’s most valuable player, linebacker Thomas Brown, with a solid defense to keep the higher-ranked Temple Owls from taking 2nd half control and a victory.

“HMG has a great mission and is growing exponentially and quickly, said Adam Bird, Heroes Media Group founder and former Soldier.  “We remain committed to supporting our military, veterans, first-responders, firefighters, law enforcement and their families with newsworthy broadcasts as well as great sports coverage for our troops in the foxhole to cops on the beat.  Visit us at www.heroesmediagroup.com.”
