Ep: 031 – Order Your Steps: Make your passion your purpose
Scarlett Williams speaks about her military service and current work. She was inspired to join the military when she saw the memorial flag and medals of her neighbor’s husband who was killed in Vietnam. She originally wanted to go to college, but had a desire to serve and also go to Hawaii.
Scarlett describes her journey of becoming a Sergeant Major through discipline and mentorship. Her many roles eventually did provide her a chance to go to Hawaii. All along her career she never forgot that just as the way was paved for her, she was responsible to pave a way for those coming behind her. By measuring her steps she was able to serve for 36 years, and she continues to serve her community as a volunteer.
