As the nation’s largest multi-sport, multi-disability organizations, Move United serves more than 70,000 wounded warriors, youth, and adults with disabilities in more than 50 summer and winter sports through its nationwide network of more than 140 community-based chapters in over 40 states. These sports opportunities transform the people we serve, highlighting the potential in each of us, embodied in the Move United motto: “If I can do this, I can do anything!” Move United is a member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
Shuan Butcher serves as the Editor of the nationally-award winning Challenge magazine, the nation’s leading adaptive sports magazine. This is one of his primary roles as Communications Manager for Move United. He received his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University. An Army Veteran, he is involved in various veterans-related efforts and organization, including coordinating one of the oldest Veterans Day Parades in the country. Shuan is a member of the National Press Club and the American Society of Magazine Editors and has written for various publications, including the Frederick News Post, Eastern Home & Travel magazine, and others. In addition to being a sports fan, he enjoys various outdoor recreational, arts and cultural events, and traveling.
