Alana Nichols is a world-class athlete with a passion for challenging herself and others. After suffering a spinal cord injury at age 17 while attempting a back flip on her snowboard, Alana quickly transitioned to adaptive sports.  She is a 5X Paralympian and a 6 X Paralympic Medalist, including 3 Gold, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze. In fact, she is the first American female to win gold medals at both Summer and Winter Paralympic Games.

Adaptive Sports Podcast Launches on Heroes Media Group

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Heroes Media Group, LLC., (HMG) announced today that “Challenge Extended,” a new podcast by Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA) ( will debut in February 2020, on the Heroes Media Group Network. DSUSA sees this podcast as an extension oftheir “Challenge” magazine, a leading source for adaptive sports information.

DSUSA is the nation’s largest multi-sport, multi-disability organization, and a member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
