Giants Shut Out As Diamondbacks Pitching Dominates

The San Francisco Giants came into Chase Field to take on the Diamondbacks after winning their last 2 of 3 games. But tonight, they ran into a bullpen that was looking to prove where they stand in the majors.

The Diamondbacks would shut out the Giants tonight by the score of 7-0. The pitching staff would strike out a total of nine Giants during the game, led by starting pitcher Merrill Kelly who had six.

Yoshihisa Hirano would come in to the game with the bases loaded and only one out in the sixth inning, and he would strike out the last two in the inning to keep the Giants off the score board.

The S3’s Football “Locks of the Week!”

After suffering a beatdown in week two, I decided to take an early bye-week for my “Locks of the Week.”  I recorded an abysmal three wins out of my seven projected locks and barely limped away without having to go on the IR.  But, after being labeled as “questionable” earlier in the week, I’ve now made a full recovery, and I’m coming back with a vengeance in week four by picking an astounding FOURTEEN games this weekend!

That’s right, I’m so hungry to get my win total up early in the season that I’m doubling my locks in this week!  I want there to be no question as to whether or not I’m back at 100% after the bye week.   …

The Inside Pitch: NL West

Over the last decade or so, the NL WEST has been called the .500 club. Being that all you needed to do is finish the season above .500 and you stood a pretty decent chance of winning the division. Growing up a Dodgers fan in Los Angeles, we would always hear the talk about how weak a division the NL WEST was. The NL WEST has definitely had their share of superstars since 2000, but was never mentioned in the same sentence as teams in the AL EAST or NL CENTRAL.
