Arizona State Takes Down 15th Ranked Utah 38-20!

TEMPE, AZ- The Arizona State Sun Devils hosted the 15th ranked Utah Utes on Saturday afternoon in a big Pac-12 matchup.

Arizona State received the ball on their own 25 yard line after the opening touchback.  The Sun Devils offense moved down the field with efficiency both through the air and the ground, highlighted by a 31 yard pass from Wilkins to Brandon Aiyuk down the left sideline.  The drive would come up short after an incomplete pass on 3rd and 15 on the Utah 15.  But Utah would be called for targeting on the play, and it would give the Sun Devil offense a first down and goal on their own 7 and 1/2 yard line.  Eno Benjamin would …

Sun Devils Offense Stalls As Time Expires Against Stanford

That pass had to go into the end zone.  After the Arizona State Sun Devils had used up 2:12 of the 2:20 remaining in the game, a crucial mistake was made by Wilkins as pertaining to clock management.  With just eight seconds left, and no timeouts remaining from the Stanford 20-yard line, Wilkins threw the ball to Eno Benjamin in the middle of the field for just two yards.  He was immediately wrapped up by the Stanford Cardinal defense.

Coyotes Still Scoreless At Home; Lose 3-0 To Sabres

GLENDALE, AZ- The Arizona Coyotes returned home after a home-and-home series against the Anaheim Ducks, where they split the series 1-1.  They finally got the lid off the net for the season in Anaheim after big goals by Dylan Strome and Brad Richardson.

So for Saturday night, they returned to the friendly confines of Gila River Arena to take on the Buffalo Sabres.  Unfortunately though, the lid on the net was still very tight.

The Sabres would open up the scoring early in the first period (2:45) with his first goal of the season, upper right corner of the net.  It was assisted by Jeff Skinner and Even Rodrigues.

Buffalo would add a second goal in the first period (18:06) …

Coyotes Shut Out In Home Opener; Still Scoreless On Season

GLENDALE, AZ- With a complete sell-out of over 17,000 fans, the Arizona Coyotes took to the ice in their home opener against the Anaheim Ducks.  Arizona came into their home opener after losing their first game of the season to the Dallas Stars on Thursday night, 3-0.

So the first thing that I was wondering heading into tonight’s matchup was who was going to score the first goal of the season for the Coyotes?  Unfortunately, that question went unanswered as they were shutout tonight by the final score of 1-0.

It wasn’t for the lack of trying on the part of the Coyotes offense as they pounded the puck toward the Ducks Goaltender, John Gibson to the tune of 41 …
