Former Tulane Basketball Player Moses Wood Announces Transfer Destination

Tulane freshman shooting guard/small forward Moses Wood has found a new program.

Wood announced via his Twitter that he is transferring to UNLV to play for newly hired head coach T. J. Otzelberger.

The freshman played in 31 games for the Green Wave this season and averaged 4.5 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, and 0.9 assists per game. Wood only started in two games but was frequently the first player off of Tulane’s bench when he did not start. The freshman flashed his high scoring potential in games versus Memphis and East Carolina when he scored 17 and 15 points, respectively.

Three Tulane Basketball Players Announce That They Are Entering the Transfer Portal

It has been a rough 24 hours or so for the Tulane basketball program. Yesterday, within 20 minutes of each other, sophomore Caleb Daniels and freshman Connor Crabtree announced that they would be entering the NCAA transfer portal. The third blow came this afternoon when freshman Moses Wood also announced that he would be looking to transfer.

Many fans were optimistic that Tulane might escape this coaching change without any transfers. In his introductory press conference, new Head Coach Ron Hunter stated that there were players that wanted to transfer when he arrived who no longer did after meeting him.
