Diamondbacks Win In Historic Game At Chase Field!

The Arizona Diamondbacks Walk-Off in 15 Innings Against The Los Angeles Dodgers at Chase Field.

This is my fourth year covering the Arizona Diamondbacks.  They haven’t won an actual championship in almost 17 seasons. They are not flashy.  Most of the players on the Diamondbacks are highly underrated in my opinion.  The Diamondbacks organization itself has never been called out for making really big news.  Hell, The Diamondbacks aren’t even my favorite team, as everyone knows that my heart lies with my teams in Boston, where I was raised.

And yes, they are not part of a city with a huge sports following, regardless of how big of a population lives here in the valley of the sun.  But DAMN …

Diamondbacks “Rock The Rockies” In Season Opener

PHOENIX, AZ-  You really could not have asked for better weather than what we got here in Phoenix tonight for the season opener between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies.  A sold out crowd, composed of fans from both teams were treated with blue skies, around 80 degrees, and an open roof at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix.  Obviously, there were more Diamondbacks fans there than Rockies fans.

And they were treated to an offensive show by the home team, led by Jake Lamb, who went 2-5 with key hits in the 1st and 6th innings, driving in 4 runs, both times with the bases loaded.  Lamb played in the 5th spot for the Diamondbacks tonight, originally supposed to …

De La Rosa Goes 4 Scoreless for Diamondbacks, Peralta Goes Yard

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.-Cactus league play continued Saturday at Salt River Fields as the Arizona Diamondbacks (SS) defeated the defending World Series champion Kansas City Royals in the finale of a home-and-home series 3-0. The ballgame set a single game attendance record with 13,514 fans.

The Diamondbacks sent Rubby De La Rosa (1-0, 11.25 ERA) to the mound to face Kansas City hurler Kris Medlen (0-0, 0.00 ERA).

Rubby had a great outing pitching four innings with five strikeouts, no walks, while only allowing four hits and throwing 65 pitches. De La Rosa’s ERA improved to 5.63 for spring training.
