Phoenix Raceway Hosts NASCAR’s Elite For Action-Packed Weekend!

2020 marks the very first year in NASCAR Championship history where the title race will be held at a track where the drivers had already raced earlier in the season. This year, Phoenix Raceway has been chosen to host the final showdown for the championship in November. And this past weekend, we got a little preview of what to expect from the track that has quickly become a fan favorite on the schedule.

Phoenix Raceway hosted three of the four NASCAR racing leagues this past weekend; The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and ARCA Menards Series West were all in town for the three-day blitz of racing action.

I’ve been covering NASCAR now at Phoenix Raceway for about …

50th Anniversary At Sonoma Raceway

This weekend marks the 31stconsecutive year NASCAR has competed at Sonoma Raceway.  It is also the track’s 50 the anniversary!  Also, this marks Darrell Waltrip’s final broadcast and will retire from the booth.  He is a class act, a larger than life character and a phenomenal race driver.  Darrell, you will be missed!!

The main and exciting fact is that Sonoma has returned to the original twelve turn course.  This course incorporates the famous “Carousel”.  This feature of the storied track drops from turn four to turns 5 and 6. The Carousel has a 200-degree radius, then transitions through turn seven to the longest straightway on the two- and half-mile track.

Kyle Busch Sweeps The Desert

It’s getting to the point to where Kyle Busch should feel that he can come into ISM Raceway and win in any vehicle. It doesn’t matter if Kyle Busch is driving in the truck, in the Xfinity race, or in the Monster Energy Race. Kyle Busch has now won two in-a-row in the desert in the Monster Energy Series. He has not finished worse than 7th at ISM Raceway in his last eight races. He’s also finished inside the top ten in 12 of his last 15 starts.

There is also a bit of history that Kyle Busch is chasing as he entered the weekend at a total of 197 wins, only three wins behind “The King” Richard Petty for …

NASCAR Recap: Las Vegas Motor Speedway!

When you think about Las Vegas, the tourist in you thinks about how exciting it is to walk the Strip and go see some great acts and shows, and yes, maybe even gamble a little.  But me?  As the die-hard sports fan that I am, I love Las Vegas because my visits mean 185 mph cars, engines roaring, and an overall excitement that somehow overcomes the hot desert heat and keeps your heart pounding all weekend long!

This past weekend was no exception.  As Las Vegas Motor Speedway is much larger than my home track of ISM Raceway, I’m always happy to bring along an extra camera or two.  So first, I want to give a shout out to Mike …
