Ryan Weaver to be Featured by Veterans Motorsports, Inc. at NASCAR Race

SPARTA, KENTUCKY—The 300 NASCAR Xfinity weekend at Kentucky Speedway is underway. With qualifying coming to a close, Veterans Motorsports, Inc. racer Mike Harmon will start the race in 40th place, driving car number seventy-four. The race is 300 miles, about 200 laps on the track located in Sparta, Kentucky.
For this leg of the Xfinity Series, country singer and combat veteran Ryan Weaver will be featured on the hood of Harmon’s car. Weaver served in the United States Army as a Blackhawk Helicopter Pilot with a ranking of Chief Warrant Officer 3 before moving on from service to continue his country career. His passion for country music and activity in the community began in 2005 while still enlisted.

Washington, DC – Coach Steve Pikiell led the Rutger’s Scarlet Knights to their first-ever victory in a Big Ten Tournament game on Wed., March 8, 2017 at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC.  The Knights won a close game 66 to 57 “besting” the higher-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes.

Runnin’ Rebels Hoopsters Dominate the Lobos

Albuquerque, N. M. — Almost 40 years to the day after their first meeting, The UNLV Runnin’ Rebels(8-9, 1-3) paid a visit to Albuquerque to meet up with Mountain West foe – the New Mexico Lobos(9-7, 2-2) on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017.

Both teams are typically ranked but this year, they are in a rebuilding phase.  However, rebuilding has nothing to do with continuing the rivalry.  This contest was a tale of two halves as these team’s swapped leads five times and tied four. In the end UNLV upset the home favorite Lobos 71-66.

Demon Deacons Upset over Temple Owls at the Military Bowl

The Demon Deacons of Wake Forest enjoyed their first bowl victory in eight years beating the Temple Owls 34 to 26 in a close contest at Jack Stephens Field at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, Annapolis, Maryland on Dec. 28, 2016.

“Everybody that helps run the Military Bowl, appreciate ya,” Wake Forest Coach Dave Clawson said. “This is a first-class event. Everything from the accommodations, the meals, the tours — we’ve had an absolutely magical week here. And this was a great way to end it.”

Heroes Media Group Covers Army’s End of Futility

Baltimore, Md. – Fourteen years of football-futility ended Saturday afternoon at M&T Stadium as the Army Black Knights finally beat the Navy Midshipman.  Navy still maintains a .568 winning percentage in all competition between the two academies but the pinnacle of competition is football.  Navy dominance ended Sat., Dec. 10, 2016 in Baltimore with a 21-17 loss to the “long gray line.”

“I’m just happy for our seniors,” said Army’s Head Coach, Jeff Monken.  “The sense of pride that they will have to go on, having beaten Navy, having beaten our biggest rival in their senior year.  It’s great for everybody in that locker room.  I hope they enjoy it.”
