Corbin Continues Solid Spring but the Diamondbacks Bats go Cold

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.-The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Milwaukee Brewers (SS) at Salt River Fields on Monday night 3-2. Tonight’s matchup saw 11,011 fans come through the gates. This was the 7th sellout of the season.

The Arizona Bats Go Cold

Despite leading the league in almost every hitting category this spring, the Arizona bats were extremely quiet. Milwaukee’s starting pitcher, Josh Hader, pitched three scoreless frames only allowing 1 hit, 2 walks, and recorded 5 strikeouts. With the exception of two Jean Segura stolen bases, the Diamondbacks were not exciting at all on offense during the early parts of the game.

Jimmy Johnson Wins In Fontana; NASCAR Recap

FONTANA, CA –Thank God for DVR!…Or whoever actually invented the DVR (I think Anthony Wood), but after a day of coaching football, it was great to sit back and watch an awesome race in Fontana! Jimmy Johnson would take the victory after battling Kevin Harvick in overtime.  Johnson, who started behind Harvick after the final caution, would push the #4 past Hamlin on the restart, and then take the inside and power his way past Harvick for the win in an exciting green-white-checkered finish!

Johnson, along with Dale Jr., would have their cars painted to promote the Batman V Superman movie that is coming out. While Batman (Dale Jr.) finished 11th, Superman (Johnson) would take the victory on the day. …

Zach Greinke Sharp; Strikes Out 7 Vs Rangers

SCOTTSDALE, AZ-  Zach Greinke got his first win of the 2016 Spring Training schedule on his fourth start.  And today, he was sharp!  In his previous starts, Greinke went a total of 8 2/3rds innings, and struck out four.  Today, against the Texas Rangers at Salt River Fields, he struck out 7, after going 5 2/3rds innings, allowed 4 hits, and zero runs.

It was surprising to see that Diamondbacks keep Greinke in the game for almost six full innings.  It brings up some questions on his future starts, given that he’s obviously going to be the #1 guy in the rotation.  Having thrown almost six innings today, that means that Greinke should make two more starts in the spring …

GLENDALE, AZ- After a four game road trip that brought the Arizona Coyotes (31-32-7) four points, a two game ongoing winning streak, and the long awaited return of Mike Smith, the Arizona Coyotes are back for a quick two game stop before hitting the road once more. The first of the two came Thursday against the San Jose Sharks (39-25-6) and marked Mike Smith’s first home game back from recuperating after an abdominal surgery earlier this season.

With Smith (.910 SV%) in net coming off of a shutout against the Edmonton Oilers March 12, the first period was rather quiet on both ends with only one penalty against Coyotes center Martin Hanzal for slashing and low shot activity from either …
